The deadline is already here for some of the Avnet games. Keep in mind that we still have the on-site games coming up which we will be creating teams for next week. If you would prefer to be involved from the comfort of your own home, the following information might be important for you.
Deadlines are coming up fast for three of our Virtual Games, plus one of our new Arizona onsite competitions.
Geocache Scavenger Hunt (deadline - noon, Feb. 5) -- Teams will use a Motorola Android phone for the GPS unit and receive initial instructions to start the scavenger hunt while posting updates to their school's Facebook and Twitter pages after solving each clue. This event is open to Arizona students only and takes place on Saturday, Feb. 13. In addition to the $1,000 scholarship, winning team members will each receive a new Motorola Droid phone!
RedPrairie Supply Chain Challenge (deadline – Feb. 5) -- Students will compete for a $1,000 scholarship by maximizing profitability of a virtual factory by managing assets (inventory, equipment and cash) within the game. This game is open to students nationally and takes place Saturday, Feb. 20.
AndroidTM App Challenge (deadline - Feb. 12) -- Students develop a Google Android™ App using Google's Android™ SDK and Open API. In addition to the $1,000 scholarship, winning team members will each receive a new Motorola Droid phone!
Win the Pitch – Event Creation (deadline – Feb. 12) -- For an upcoming Omni Corporation International event, students will develop a theme/tag line and graphical treatment to be used in the event slide and workbook/agenda. Students will also develop a motivational video that will be used to kick-off the event as well as a stage design. Lastly, students will pitch the concept to the customer team. This game--open only to Arizona students--provides students with excellent experience in event development.
